Masterpiece Artist Canvas 43834 Monet PRO 1-1/2 Deep, 12 x 48, Cotton 14.0oz - 3X - Sausalito Heavy Weight
Size:2" x 4"  |  Style Name:Cotton 4.0oz - 3X - Sausalito Heavy Weight

Product Description

This 2x4 is one of our Extreme Rectangle SIzes in the 4: Aspect Ratio. Sausalito is our #2 heavy weight cotton duck canvas finished at 4 oz., sized and double primed with archival quality acrylic gesso, producing a ground impervious to paints leaching through and harming the fabric. Suitable for most all paint types, like oils, acrylics, and alkyds. It has a robust paint-gripping surface texture and rugged body, ideal for heavy paint or impasto. There is a /2" gap between the canvas and frame, eliminating the unwanted lines that occur when the gap is less. We never use finger joints in our wood frames, which often fail under tension and over time - the glue joints give-up, and are unsuitable for paintings intended to last for centuries. Patented 3.25" wide heavy duty keyable brace allows the canvas frame to be tensioned in the middle, where the tension is needed the most! The Stretcher Bars are slotted in the center to accept the brace. Due to our unique design, the brace may be removed, if desired. Both corner keys and brace keys are pre-installed. Stretched using our proprietary MuseumWrap method, producing a drum-tight-stretch up to 50% tighter than other methods, and with balanced tension across the surface. The corners are uncut and neatly folded, making it possible to remove and restretch the canvas on the same size frame.

From the Manufacturer

For 50+ years, the passion of the Masterpiece team is building the finest artist canvas in America.  Just touch one of these impressive products and you’ll immediately discern the quality characteristics that separate this canvas from any other. Masterpiece takes pride in using high quality materials, employing unparalleled workmanship, and continually upping the bar on quality. The importance of artists using a quality made canvas cannot be overstressed.  If you use high quality paints and brushes, then don’t waste your resources on an inferior canvas not worthy of your own time, talent, and reputation.Masterpiece canvases are built to last well beyond the artist's lifetime…into the next millennium.  Savvy art buyers and art enthusiasts understand that the value of a painting increases when the materials used to create it are of equal quality to the artwork itself.  Using a well-made canvas is an investment in your own legacy. Why are Masterpiece canvases so good?  It starts with the canvas itself.  Natural fiber canvas materials, like 0% cotton and Belgian Linen, are selected and inspected. A sizing is then applied to the canvas that becomes a barrier between the ultimate primer and the canvas material.  The primer is specifically designed to provide the ultimate surface upon which your paints will join with the canvas, either chemically and/or mechanically, providing a reliable base or ground for your art.The canvas is then mounted onto a state-of-the-art Monet Pro frame. When frame sizes are 6” or larger, a brace is applied to the frame; for example, a 6x20 has a single brace, and a 20x20 is cross braced in both directions. The braces prevent the stretcher bar frame from bowing-in so the canvas stays tighter….which is a welcome feature when you paint on the canvas, making the surface more responsive to the artist’s touch. And the canvas stays tight after it’s painted. To increase the tension further, press-in the corner keys and the brace keys further into the slots, which adds tension in the corners and the middle of the canvas, where the tension is needed the most!Monet Pro canvas is MuseumWrapped, which is Masterpiece’s proprietary stretching technique that achieves: a drum-tight stretch, balanced tension across the canvas surface, neatly folded un-cut corners, and paintable edges. It’s the absolute best way to stretch a canvas. When your art matters, choose Monet Pro…a truly professional canvas in every way!

this content was created by the national sleep foundation.

every week, you likely spend anywhere from 49 to 63 hours on your sheets. that leaves a lot of time for sweat , oil, dirt, and maybe even makeup to build up, possibly leading to skin issues like breakouts, more allergy symptoms, and even conditions like fungal infections.

that’s why it’s so important to keep your sheets clean. but just how often should you wash them? running your sheets through the washer too often can break down the fabrics and cause them to wear out faster. on the other hand, washing them too rarely can let all that dirt and all those allergens like dust mites build up.

there isn’t a hard-and-fast rule for how often to wash your sheets, but a good rule of thumb is to do it once a week. you can stretch that out to every two weeks, if you like, but you’ll want to do it more often if you sweat while you sleep. and if you’ve been sick, toss them in the washer immediately to kill any lingering germs.

here's a hack: if washing all your sheets once a week just isn't doable, try to at least wash your pillowcases once a week, perhaps by tossing them into the washing machine with another load of laundry, because your face is more likely to break out than other areas of your body and you can ingest dust mites through your nose and mouth.

when you do wash your sheets, use warm water (hot water can shrink the fibers in the fabric) and tumble dry (never store sheets that aren’t completely dry—it can lead to mildew).

also, don’t think that every single thing on your bed needs to get washed this often—duvet covers need to get washed just once a month, while pillows, comforters, and blankets need to get washed only a few times a year (do it once a season to help you keep track). when you do wash those items, use the delicate cycle and do an extra rinse cycle to make sure all the soap gets out.
